Ever since the date of the youngest member of the Ambani family, Anant Ambani’s wedding, was announced with Radhika Merchant (daughter of Indian businessman Viren Merchant), there has been quite a lot buzz about the same. While Anant Ambani is known for his passion towards animal welfare, Radhika Merchant on the other is passionate about classical Indian dance form Bharatnatyam. From the guest list to the gifts, and food; everything is going to be an extravagant affair. The couple Anant and Radhika were engaged last year in January in a traditional Gol Dhana ceremony; their wedding is going to take place on July 12.


As per media reports, their pre-wedding festivities will be held from March 1-3 in Jamnagar (Gujarat), where as many as 1, 000 guests will grace the occasion. The 3-day pre-wedding festivities will have different themes and dress codes, and are set for a pre-set itinerary. While Day 1 has a theme called 'An Evening is Everland' (March 1) and the dress code is evening cocktail attire, Day 2 is all set for a 'A Walk on the Wildside' (March 2) theme, from where the guests will head to Mela Rouge where desi activities will take place and the guests will dress up in 'jungle fever) . Day 3 will have two events named 'Tusker Trails and Hashtakshar' (March 3) where the guests will enjoy the beauty of Jamnagar for the trail and dress up in ethnic Indian dress code for Hashtakshar.

Talking about the food at the pre-wedding functions, there are reports that a team of 21 chefs from Indore will be preparing food for the guests, and these three days are going to be the best culinary treat for the people attending these festivities.

As per ABP News, the chefs have been roped in from the Jardin Hotel and out of these 21 chefs, there is just one male chef, while the other 20 are women. The Director of Jardin Hotel shared with the media house that more than 2500 dishes will be prepared during these 3-day pre-wedding festivities and will include Japanese, Thai, Mexican and Parsi Thali along with Pan Asian cuisine.

Further specifying the details, it was disclosed by Sharma that there’ll be 75 types of dishes for breakfast, more than 225 types of dishes for lunch, 275 types of dishes for dinner, and 85 types of items will be included in the midnight meal. This Midnight meal will be served from 12 midnight to 4 am, and preparations have been made in such a way that not a single item will be repeated.

There will be a special Indori Sarafa food counter for guests, which will cover traditional Indori dishes such as Indori Kachori, Bhutte Ka Kees, Khopra Patties, Upma and Indori Poha Jalebi. The news report also suggested that these chefs would carry spices from Indore for that actual Indori taste.



As per the media reports, the list of people who have confirmed their presence for their much-awaited pre-wedding functions includes Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, Microsoft’s former CEO Bill Gates, Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger, Morgan Stanley CEO Ted Pick, Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, Bank of America Chairman Brian Thomas Moynihan.

Not just this, but several elite and notable names from sports and entertainment fraternities, in India and overseas will be gracing the occasion.

Eminent Bollywood stars such as the Bachchan family, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, and Ranveer Singh will also attend the event. Star performers such as American pop diva Rihanna and India's singing sensation Arijit Singh will regale the audience with live performances.

In a recent video, Suhel Seth, Indian businessman and columnist talked about the food and hospitality of Ambanis. As per the video, he ate Fafda and Undhiyu at the gala evening.

Kicking off the pre-wedding festivities, the Ambani family has recently performed the Anna Seva (community food service) in villages located around Jamnagar.

On Day 2 of the Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant pre-wedding bash, Chef Surabhi Sehgal who is known for her plant-based dishes, shared insights from Jamnagar and disclosed on her Instagram post the ingredients used for preparing the lavish vegetarian treats.
